A while back I posted some posters that I was going to put up in my daughter’s room. I got some great feedback on them but wanted to give an update on where I was with a new one and some changes to the old.
This new poster is a take on an old Sesame Street skit with Ernie and Hoots the owl, where Ernie is not able to play his saxophone properly because he won’t put down his rubber duckie. You should youtube the skit, it’s really funny. Just type in “Put down the duckie” and enjoy.
I made some additional changes to some other posters to update them for her age and to make the type more dynamic. That was to make the bottle rocket into a sippy cup instead of a bottle, she’s way to much of a big girl to use a bottle anymore. The last change was to make the “little fish” copy come out of the whale’s spout.
As always let me know what you think.
On a side note, I entered one of the posters into a competition. It’s for a good cause. Go check it out and give me a vote, like, or tweet.

These are great, good luck with the competition!
Hey. I just looked at the competition you entered. I’m sorry that I didn’t make it in time to vote, but I think yours is definitely one of the best.
I am liking the style difference in these posters, by the way. It threw me off a bit at first, but they should look great hanging up in her room. Nice work.
Micah, yeah the style is different between all the posters. I wanted the posters to be related as a whole via colors, similar fonts, etc when I started. But I am actually digging the fact that they’re all different stylistically. In the end they’re just different stories about raising my daughter to decorate her room. I may try and print some out later and sell on Etsy or something. Haven’t decided.
