My baby came today—early in the morning. She is so amazing. I wrote some notes about the experience. Inspired by Feltron, I am recreating a timeline of the birth/labor from when the water broke until the delivery. My first pass is pretty rough. This upcoming week, I will work on this as well as on the baby brand that I started last week.
I am still debating if this is too personal to post. Is it weird? What do you think?

Congratulations! That’s so great! Can’t wait to see some pictures!
A timeline is a very cool idea and it’s looking nice. I don’t know if it’s too personal because it’s pretty much the same process all women go through. However, you may want use more general terms in certain cases.
Again, congrats!
Thanks John. I love how you described your own baby experience on Facebook and this website.
I’ll post some pictures soon.
And now you get to experience the two most beautiful words in the english language: Paternity Leave. Enjoy!
Wow, I’m amazed you have that much information in the first place. My memories of the experience go something like: started labor > crazy > !!! > amazing. That’s about all I remember.
Looks great though! And congrats! I’m sure you’ll be happy to have this to look back on.
Congratulations. I am with Houston in that I can’t believe you were able to be with it enough to collect all of this data. I love the idea, though. Really nice.
First, congratulations! I am happy and excited for you and your wife.
Second, as someone who has been through this experience twice, I absolutely love the timeline. Not only do I think it is a great way to see what actually happened when most parents are hard pressed to remember anything put, as Houston put it, “labor started>crazy>!!!>amazing!” And I think it would be great to have a record of what I was going through at each stage of the labor as well, both mentally/emotionally and physically. That way I could go back and remember/remind myself what I could expect the next time around.
I don’t know if it would necessarily be something I would frame to put on the wall, but definitely in the baby book.
Really cool. If I had left my wife’s side during labor to jot down some notes about what she was experiencing I would have been killed in my sleep. I’m just impressed that you were able to collect the information and ask emotional states as well during the whole process. Congrats!
Thanks everyone. I look forward to your comments on my next iteration.
