This week we made our annual pilgrimage to the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. The cool spring climate here in the northwest is perfect for tulip farmers, so the valley is covered with acres of tulips. It really makes up for all the gray that we see in the winter here. I took a bunch of photos and started playing around with them last night. I really need to push myself to play with type more, so this is a babystep in that direction. The image above is just a sample of probably 50 varieties of tulips we saw.

I have no idea where I was going with that stripy image.

My photos are pretty amateur, but it’s pretty hard to take a bad picture there.
Here’s a little movie I made last year, in case you haven’t seen enough tulips.
What a beautiful family tradition. Those fields are unreal!
Those fields must be unbelievably popular for photographers…your images are amazing. What a lovely place! Does it smell wonderful too?
The simple, straightforward format of the poster is working well. And I like that you’ve chosen type on a slant. Nice. Could we see a little more of each flower…maybe just 10%-15% more…the tips of tulip petals can be so interesting.
Wow – those fields are gorgeous! I just watched the first 30 seconds or so of the video, but I think it’s adorable. Very cute kids
