I’ve been making a very conscious effort lately to move all of my freelance and general design work out from under my personal umbrella and into the welcoming arms of the Hei Design Company. I’ve been switching email addresses, updating my URL all over the interweb, and passing out business cards to as many random people as I can. Somewhere in all of this it occurred to me that I should probably actually build the website that I am sending everyone to.
Here’s the link: hellofromhei.com
Obviously it’s still missing a lot of content and general branding copy throughout, but I thought that it might be far enough along to get some opinions. What do you think? Is the border working or is it just distracting? Does the type work? What do you hate? What do you like? Thanks so much.

Very sharp looking. I am still really enjoying the combination of black/grays and yellows. And it’s very clean.
The border only bothers me when I’m viewing in a square format—because it is to close to, and so interferes with the portfolio items…but when dragging it to a wide horizontal format, it’s not a problem on my nice wide screen.
I am also missing your hand written logo. It adds a lot of personality that is now missing.
Also, I do like that the portfolio items are large…but found myself zooming out. Maybe everything is a touch too big? Esp. the type…but that could be just personal preference kicking in here.
