These are brilliant John. I very well might rip off this idea with my own family illustrations. I doubt they would turn out as cool as these, though.

Actually I think your family portraits would be cool because you’ve got full bodies rather than just heads to costume.
It took me a minute to figure out Sophie’s costume, but then I found her fangs. Really great John.
Yeah, I’m struggling with making the teeth pop. The thing is I can’t make her skin darker or she blends into the background. I’ve tried colored teeth but I don’t like it. Hmmmm…..
I don’t think it needs anything. Even if you don’t get it right away it’s obvious that something gothic is going on. If you really want the vampireness coming out more you could give her a widow’s peak or something else.
Actually I think I might play with some sort of bat-like collar.
Maybe you could lose the ribbon in her hair but give her the collar or something below her head. I think the ribbon is throwing me off. Maybe just give her a babyish curl of hair….
She needs something girly, but not sure what exactly. Having just a widow’s peak may make her look to boyish.
Or make the ribbon a bat?
