After a quick midnight rescue from the neighbor’s curb, in the daylight I’m not sure how to feel about this rocker. Certainly it’s unique, has some serious lumbar support, and is comfortable. But I can’t decided if I think it’s cool…or just UGLY.
Before deciding to keep it, I started playing around with some visuals today—just to see. I think I’d like to find a really spiffy pillow to base the chair upholstery on. The below examples are just play.
But seriously, what do you think? Keeper? Or let someone else rock it out? Do you know of any great upholstery fabric/throw pillow resources?

Pretty damn cool, and potentially pretty wicked. Keep it! Or send it my way
Ya know, I can’t decide either. I think that if you put enough effort into it you can make it really cool. The question is… do you have the time? If so, then go for it! I’ve got my own restoration projects I’m beginning and will post soon.
I have to say that I don’t think it is worth it. It certainly is an interesting chair, but there is nothing super beautiful, amazingly designed or striking about it. It’s almost there, but not quite (in my opinion). The telling feature in this case is the wooden side. Look at that all by itself. If you love it, then go for it. If not, then pass. My wife will attest that I am a sucker for projects like this. I’ve pulled in all sorts of furniture off the street, but regrettably, after hanging out way too long in our living room corner, plenty of it ends right back where I found it.
Glad I’m not the only one who can’t quite decide…I think after getting all your thoughts I’m going to pass on the chair. John you are right, it would be a big time and money investment to get it looking really good…and since I’m on the fence, I obviously don’t love it, and shouldn’t go forward.
Thanks for your input everybody, it helped get my husband on board with letting it go too! Battle conquered!
