This is the beginning of an email invite I’m doing for my friends Grace and Liz over at Tailor and Kelle. They have started an events company and one of their regular events is “Sweet Talk” — a monthly women’s social networking event. You can see their current invite in the previous link. I will also eventually be helping them brand their company with a new logo, business card, etc., but this needs to get done first as their next Sweet Talk is in mid-October.
They are liking this direction but both commented that Sweet Talk wasn’t legible enough. A coworker mentioned the flourish off the s looks like a 2, which I agree. My next step is to vary the line thickness and taper out some of the flourishes, which I think will help with legibility. They loved the icons, which were actually my least favorite part as of now. I think they need to be more linear to reflect the line quality of the lettering or just be more functional maybe.
Any suggestions? How else could I better integrate the icons or something else to communicate cocktails, conversations and confections?
By the way, the copy is all FPO, if you were contemplating crashing the party.
