Hopefully if you are reading this page, it means you want to join our party. Excellent. If you don’t already know what we are all about please take the time to read our about page. If it sounds like something up your alley then read on.
First off, the Co-op has a few member rules:
1. All members must commit to posting once a week on a specified day. This is as much to help motivate you as it is to ensure that we have a steady stream of posts.
2. The work posted must be personal work. This is not to say that it can’t earn you riches or fame, but it needs to be self-instigated and driven, not what somebody else wants you to do.
3. No re-blogging. We share original projects at the Designer Co-op. It is not a forum for forwarding other people’s designs, unless they are used to explain your process, inspiration, or such.
4. Assuming they follow the other rules, members can post just about anything they want. Sketches, typography, illustrations, photography, lathe work, you name it. Even writing about design, photography, etc. is fair game.
5. Please keep it clean in language and content.
6. Members are invited to participate in themes and challenges from time to time, but they may opt out if they like. (They still have to post that week, though).
7. Members may take time off if they need, but I ask that you tell me in advance.
Well, I think that about covers it. Still sound good? Then all you need to do is send me an email { thedesignercoop [at] gmail [dot] com } with your name and some samples of your work (personal or professional). This can be an online portfolio, pdf or jpgs. Don’t stress too much about it. I just want to make sure we keep the level of quality at a good spot.
